Christmas Tales

I hope Christmas was a time of great joy and celebration for everyone. My family all got together to celebrate the season. I was left at home Christmas Eve but Christmas Day I celebrated with all my family around me.

As everyone on Christmas morning were opening their stockings and taking turns unwrapping their gifts, I was busy opening presents for me. I don't really have a stocking but there was a bag for me. My family watched and laughed as I pulled gift after gift out of the bag. One gift I really liked was a peanut butter flavored large knotted rope. I immediately grabbed it and headed outside through my dog door. I ripped and pulled the cardboard label off of it. Then I started in on chewing on the rope. It tasted pretty good and I really liked the big knots on either end. I will undo them yet!

More goings on later that week, include the planting of two trees in the backyard to replace the ones blown over earlier.

The biggest news is that Mom is getting a new car! She tells me that it is going to be a red Infiniti M-35 sedan. She is going to get it this coming Saturday. I won't see it until late that day as Mom is flying to Las Vegas in the morning to pick it up and drive it back. The downside is that I won't see Dad, Mom or Steven as they are all going to get the car. The upside is that I will be staying at Elmer's house (my best dog buddy) until I am picked up Saturday evening. Cool.

All the best for you and yours as the year ends and a new one starts. Happy New Year to all! May it be prosperous and full of happiness for one and all. Winking

It Was A Big Weekend!

Thanksgiving has come and gone. I got some turkey scraps. They certainly were tasty. I wish I could have more but Dad said that they were a special treat. Everyone that came by the house were quite friendly and really loved me. I am sooooo cute. Heh, heh, heh........

Saturday night was a blustery night. High winds whipped through the trees here. It was really blowing up a storm. As I was going out to the backyard with Dad, there was a loud snapping sound. BOOM! CRASH! Two of the trees in the yard came crashing down. The tree that my cat friends like was now laying in the yard, covering the lawn. Beside it was Mom's favorite orchid tree. Bummer!

The good news is that no one was hurt. The bad news is the trees are still lying across the backyard lawn. It really cuts down on my area to run around in. They will be removed some time and replacements planted. Until then I will need to be patient.

I can live with it all as I am getting more than my fair share of love and attention. Bye for now. Laugh

Close To Thanksgiving

Its turkey time in sunny Southern California!
I look forward to everyone coming over to the house. It should be a lot of fun. There will be some people I know and a few I am told I will remember from holidays past. I haven't been around too many holidays so I am going to meet new folks as far as I am concerned.
Will I get some scraps? I am not too hopeful as Dad tries to keep me away from people food. He has given me some chicken in the past. What does turkey taste like I wonder?
I hope everyone out there has a wonderful holiday. I will try to write more often. You have heard that before but I will try. Bye for now. Happy

Summer Is Winding Down

Its the last Sunday in August. It is really blazing hot. For a Klee Kai who is used to more temperate weather, this is tiring. I get so worn out playing outside. I have found that staying in the cool, dark house is the best course of action.

Late in the afternoon, I am expecting company. My family has invited over the Benedicto family for dinner. I like to have visitors as I then have new playmates to enjoy. The Benedicto girls really like me. And I really like them. They're cute like me and giggle at all the silly mannerisms that I have. You know...stuff like my "talking", teasing them with my tennis ball, etc.

Steven is making guacamole to serve tonight as an appetizer. He is also making the dessert. He calls the dessert "Lemon Squares". I will never know what it all tastes like as Dad is pretty strict about me not getting tidbits from the table. I must admit that I did drink some lemonade one time but boy did my tummy not like it, a little while later. Maybe that is why Dad is so strict.

Do look at my photos page. I have some new pictures of my best canine friend posted there. His name is Elmer and he is the same age as me. He has short little legs but he keeps up with me as we race aroiund the backyard. I see him every once in a while when he visits.

Enjoy your last days of summer. Bye for now!

They're Back!

My family has returned to me. Hoorah! They went on a vacation to San Diego, CA. It turns out they could have taken me as the hotel allows dogs. But they told me that I would have had to stay in the room or in my crate most of the day when they would go sightseeing.

I am so grateful that I got to stay home. I had the run of the backyard and all my cat friends to play with. Squirrels dropped by as well. I love to chase those squirrels up the trees in the yard.

Now that they are home, things have returned to normal. Dad has to work nights for a while so he is around to play with me. Steven doesn't start school for a few more weeks so he can keep me occupied too. And Mom is home nights so that's all good too.

Life is good.
